On November 14, 2024, around 200 people gathered at The Ration Shed in Cherbourg for a community-led truth-telling event titled "Our History, Our Stories, Our Voices." This event was organised after the incoming State Government shut down the official Path To Treaty process and Truth-Telling and Healing Inquiry. Residents residents shared powerful personal stories about their experiences and their ancestors' experiences living under strict government control at Cherbourg.

At their first press conference, held on October 31, 2024, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags were notably absent. Cameras for Change Productions respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wakka Wakka Peoples.
