Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion and Deputy Prime Minister and local member Warren Truss visited us on Friday. They visited a few places in Cherbourg and had lunch and a tour at the Ration Shed Museum. Minister Scullion said he had a wonderful time and learnt a lot about our history and community while he was here. Aunty Ada and Aunty Sandra gave him a tour of the Precinct and we spoke to him about our plans to upgrade our buildings, include the old Domestic Science building and create a sculpture park that tells our stories. It is wonderful that the community’s stories and places are being recognised by government.
