WHITE WREATH DAY
On Tuesday the 29th of May a White Wreath memorial event was held in the ANZAC MEMORIAL Park (across the road from the Ration Shed) to remember those that have lost their lives through suicide. Candles were lit and songs were sung. Morning tea and a film was screened at the Ration Shed. The Ration Shed Museum would like to acknowledge all those families that are grieving for their loved ones.

The Pema Chodron Foundation donated some of their books and CD’s to the Rationshed as a contribution to a youth library we plan to establish.
ON GOING MAINTENANCE
Our Ration Shed Workers were hard at work maintaining the grounds and the buildings. It takes a lot of energy, money and time to keep our Precinct a happening place. We really value everybody’s contributions – volunteers, money, donations etc
ARTISTS AT WORK
Local craftsman – Jack Simpson has made some Dingoes for our artists to paint. Each Dingo is hand-painted by a local artist and given a special name. The Dingoes are for sale at our local shop. They cost $100 and postage is extra. We also sell copies of our Budburra books. One of the titles is a book written by Chris Sarra called “Dingoes are not Dogs” – it is illustrated by Cherbourg State School Students.

CWA SHED – OUR NEW ART STUDIO & GALLERY
We are in the process of restoring the old CWA Shed. The building will be finished at the end of June and we will be looking for funds to refurbish the interior. We hoping our local artists can start using the building soon. We will also be running art workshops for school students and will keep you posted.
