Registrations are now open for the Ration Shed Reconciliation Fun Run/Fun Walk from Murgon to Cherbourg. The event will kick off at the Murgon Showgrounds at 8am on Sunday 27 April 2014. Participants are invited to run or walk the 7 kilometre road to Cherbourg.
Registration fees range from $2 for children registered through their schools to $20 for adults and $50 for families. Ration Shed President Aunty Sandra Morgan said: “the registration cost should not put anyone off. Everybody is welcome to participate; if the costs are too high for you and your family, please tell us and we’ll work something out.” Registration also puts you into the draw for lucky prizes, food and entry to special activities. You can also register after the run in Cherbourg for access to food, events and prizes.
People are encouraged to register for the event online at: http://rationshed.com.au/funrun/.
It will also be possible to register in person at the Ration Shed in Cherbourg on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th April and in Murgon on Thursday 24th am in the Rotunda in Lamb Street from 9am to 12.30pm.
Please be advised that the Murgon to Cherbourg Road will be closed to all traffic from 8 am to 10 am on the day. Traffic using Perkins Street Murgon may experience delays from 8 am to 8.20 am as participants leave Murgon Showgrounds. After the official proceedings buses will run to Murgon to return participants to the Murgon Showgrounds area with the last bus leaving Cherbourg at 2pm. Bus transport is encouraged as parking is limited in Cherbourg.
Mrs Morgan said: “as this event is to raise funds for the Ration Shed Museum, please consider giving a donation even if you are unable to participate.” Donations can be made through the website at http://rationshed.com.au/funrun/donate/
