The 2015 Ration Shed Museum FUN RUN-WALK on Sunday 17th May starting at 8 a.m. is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year’s event. The Fun Run promotes reconciliation and health and wellbeing for all of our people while helping to raise funds for the continued work of the Ration Shed Museum at the heart of Cherbourg.
This year we have attracted some top sports men and women, among them the noted athletes, Larissa Chambers – Deadly Choices Ambassador and National Junior Champion athlete and sprinter; Shannon McCann – Athletics Australia Ambassador, Elite Athlete finalist in the 100 metres hurdles at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow; and Rhonda Purcell – Deadly Choices Ambassador, international gold and silver medallist
Event Coordinator Zona Hussey-Smith said a celebration of Reconciliation will be held at the end of the route in the Cherbourg Memorial Park and The Ration Shed Museum. “We’ll have a big party with food, games, dancers, performers and a variety of market stalls,” she said. Prizes will be awarded to those who cross the finish line first in a number of categories.
Be a participant, be a sponsor, be a market-stall holder or just an observer –everyone is welcome.Do your bit for Reconciliation, do your bit for the Ration Shed, do your bit for better Health and Well Being! Come and Fun with us and make new friends!
