OPENING EVENT: 12PM FRIDAY 19 APRIL

EXHIBITION: MONDAY 22 APRIL - THURSDAY 2 MAY

Bianga Gukoore is a celebration of the strength, resilience, and emerging leadership of young people within the region. This exhibition focuses on the importance of supporting and investing in young people, as they continue to build upon the foundations of the future.

Through the lens of creative practice, Bianga Gukoore holds space for authentic and curious listening by giving voice to the experiences, stories, and ideas of young people within our wider communities. This exhibition features the artworks of young people in Year 11 and 12, who are currently studying Visual Art at Murgon State High School. This exhibition is the culmination of a series of workshops, facilitated by a team of practicing Artists and industry professionals, all connected as a part of the Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art (CAIA) program at the Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University.

Bianga Gukoore aims to highlight the extraordinary capabilities of young people within the region by celebrating their artistic accomplishments; whilst also acknowledging the invaluable family and friends who have come to shape them.
