The Ration Shed Museum

We welcome you to the Ration Shed Museum – located in the Cherbourg Historical, Cultural and Community Precinct – where you will have the opportunity to see and experience the past and present of a largest Aboriginal community in South East Queensland.

As a visitor you can hear the stories of our Elders, explore historical and contemporary exhibitions, view films, see our artists at work, buy some of the beautiful pottery and paintings, walk around our landscaped gardens and have a cuppa with us.

The Cherbourg Historical, Cultural and Community Precinct Group

The Ration Shed Museum is a not-for-profit venture controlled by The Cherbourg Historical, Cultural and Community Precinct Group. It is governed by a board of Cherbourg community members and its aim is to tell the story of the community’s history to the youth of Cherbourg and the world at large. It is also to create local employment and provide economic benefits to the community. All profits are re-invested in the growth of the Precinct Project and future community projects.
